Buy as few new lengths as possible. Reaches for the offcut rack only when doing so saves you a purchase. 02

Least waste

The smallest pile of scrap at the end of the day, even if that means the rack goes untouched. 03

Clear the rack

Spend what you already own before buying anything, and accept a little more waste to do it. 04

Kindest to the saw

Same lengths bought, far fewer stops: equal cuts run back to back, longest first, so the fence moves as little as possible. 05

Cheapest ($)

The lowest bill, which is not always the fewest bars. Needs a price against your stock.

What you are cutting from

Leave Qty blank if you can buy as many as you need. Fill it in when the rack has a finite number of them.

What is already on the rack

Optional. Short lengths left over from previous jobs. The plan will use them before it buys anything, if you let it.
